Participation
- Can children join? Is there an age limit?
-
Children are welcome to join. Families can enjoy the sumo experience together. However, for the challenge on the ring, we may restrict participation depending on the child’s age, size, and safety considerations. If you have any concerns, please contact us in advance.
- Do you have a child rate? Do infants need to pay?
-
There is no separate child rate; as a general rule, tickets are the same price for all guests. However, children under 2 years old can join for free, as long as they do not require their own seat, drink, or meal. If you are unsure about your situation, please contact us before booking.
- How many people can join at once? Do you accept group bookings?
-
The sumo experience can accommodate up to around 50 guests. Group bookings are very welcome, including company trips, school groups, and tour groups.
Depending on the date and group size, private or customized programs may also be possible, so feel free to contact us to discuss details.
- Can I join alone?
-
Absolutely. Solo travelers are very welcome. Many guests enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing this unique experience together, so it is a great activity even if you are traveling by yourself.
- Can I join without a reservation (walk-in)? Can my friend join last-minute?
-
If there are open seats, walk-in participation on the day is possible, and you can also pay on site. However, the show can be fully booked, so if you definitely want to join, we strongly recommend making a reservation in advance.
Food, Drinks & Alcohol
- Are drinks or food included in the ticket price?
-
Drinks and food are not included in the ticket price. However, there is a bar inside the venue, and you can enjoy drinks and light snacks while watching the sumo show.
After the show ends, you are very welcome to stay and relax in the bar area. We would actually love for you to take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and keep drinking and chatting as long as you like.
- If I drink alcohol, can I still experience sumo on the ring?
-
For safety reasons, guests who have been drinking cannot do a full-on match-style challenge against the wrestlers. However, you can still step onto the ring to try simple movements, poses, and get a feel for the sumo ring itself.
This way, you can enjoy both the bar and the cultural experience while keeping safety as the top priority.
Cancellations & Changes
- Can I cancel or change the time on the same day?
-
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the start time are not refundable. Regarding time changes, it may be possible to move your booking to another time slot or another day if there is availability.
If you would like to change your booking, please contact the booking platform or our support center as early as possible.

-
Tipping is not mandatory in Japan, and we do not require tips. However, if you feel that the wrestlers and staff did a great job and you had a wonderful time, a small tip or a kind review mentioning the wrestlers’ or staff’s names is greatly appreciated.
It is a big motivation for our team, and we are very thankful for any such gesture.
- Is it okay to post photos and videos of the experience on social media?
-
Yes, please do – we are very happy when you share your experience online. Your posts help future visitors discover sumo culture and also support the wrestlers and staff who perform at SUMO STUDIO.
If you don’t mind, we would be delighted if you could mention “SUMO STUDIO” or the name of the experience in your caption.
